How to Cleanse Your Space
Houses, land, and other spaces have experienced things and retain varying degrees of energy from those experiences. There are different levels of cleansing and also a variety of methods depending on the situation.
What I’ve shared below is a step-by-step guide that walks you through one of my go-to methods for cleansing a space. If you have specific needs or questions, please email me directly so we can talk about particulars. It’s best to remember that this is sacred work and needs to be entered into with respect. Don’t rush and make sure you have what you need before you begin.
Guide to Cleansing a Space
You’ll need Sage, Palo Santo, or Sweetgrass for smoke, but also some sage to pin over doors. You’ll also need Florida Water and a Rattle. I also like using bells after rewinding the energy but that’s up to you.
Before you begin, open sacred space and pull your Viracocha down. Form your intent to clear anything harmful and heavy out of the room.
Open the front and back doors, and windows so you can chase the energy out.
If it’s a room or a one-story, it’s a bit easier. You’ll want to work on each room individually and herd the energy out towards a central area so you can then push it out through an open door or window.
If it’s a multistory home, herd everything to the main floor so for example, herd from the basement to the main floor and from upstairs down to the main floor.
No matter what the layout of your home, you’ll work right to left first, moving counterclockwise to unwind the energy. You’ll do three sweeps, corresponding to three levels in the space, which I explain below.
Light your Palo Santo, Sage or Sweetgrass so there’s plenty of smoke, then use your rattle to stir up stagnant energy, and start your first of three sweeps - beginning at floor level up to about 2.5 to 3 feet off the floor, making sure to get under furniture, inside cupboards and drawers, and in all little nooks and crannies each time.
Do the second sweep focusing on the area that starts 2.5 or 3 feet from the floor up to about 6 ft up off the floor. Smoke and rattle. Don’t forget to get to any hidden spaces.
Now do the third and final sweep, focusing on the area from 6ft off of the floor to the ceiling. Smoke and rattle, making sure to get into all nooks and crannies and under furniture.
When you’re finished, close all the windows and doors, and then begin winding the energy back up in each room. Begin by going clockwise this time to the left using Florida water and rattle.
With intent, do the three sweeps at each of the three levels of the room again, from floor to ceiling, rattling and blowing Florida Water wherever you feel it’s needed. Close the door, pin sage over each door and move onto the next room.
When you’re done, close sacred space and your Viracocha. You should now feel nice clean energy throughout your space.
